Your privacy matters. Tatakae is built privacy first: the account is optional, and there are no ads, no tracking and no third-party analytics.
Tatakae is developed by Jacob Aguilar. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the App.
Tatakae collects as little as possible. If you don't sign in, the App sends nothing to our servers. It never uses advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs. Only if you sign in with Apple to use friends and rankings do we process the account data described on this page.
Your workouts, routines, body measurements and custom exercises are stored on your device with Apple's SwiftData framework. They only leave it if you back them up to iCloud or, if you opt in, when your best camera-counted sets are published to the rankings.
Signing in is optional; every training feature works without it. If you sign in with Apple, we receive a stable identifier from Apple; we do not store your email address. For friends and rankings you choose a nickname and your sex (used only for the ranking category, and it cannot be changed later), and optionally your country and a profile photo, which you can remove at any time. Your session is kept in the iOS Keychain. Signing out ends the session on this device but does not delete your account.
Publishing is opt-in. If you turn it on, when a camera-counted set beats the best mark you already published for that exercise, we receive the exercise, the rep count and the start and end time of the session. Manually logged sets and timed holds are never published. Published marks appear with your nickname, photo and country in the friends, country and global rankings. Friends are people whose request you accepted, and they can see your profile and marks. You can turn publishing off at any time in Settings.
Friend requests and ranking alerts are delivered as push notifications through Apple Push Notification service. For that we store your device's push token on our server; you can mute these alerts in the App or in iOS Settings. While you are signed in, the App keeps a connection to our server open to show friend requests and ranking changes in real time. Routine reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone, and nothing about them leaves your device.
Account data (identifier, nickname, sex, country, photo, published marks, friendships and push tokens) is stored on a server operated by the developer and hosted by Contabo in the United States. If you live outside the United States, using these features means your data is transferred there. All connections use HTTPS.
We keep account data for as long as your account exists. To delete your account, email contact@tatakae.fit with your nickname: we delete your account, profile, photo, published marks, friendships and device tokens as soon as we process your request. Data stored on your device and in your iCloud backup is not affected; remove it by uninstalling the App and deleting the backup.
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the European Union), you can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to its processing. Write to contact@tatakae.fit and we will reply within 30 days. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
The App uses your device camera solely for AI-powered exercise detection and rep counting. Video frames are processed entirely on-device using Apple's Vision and CoreML frameworks. No images or video are stored, transmitted, or sent to external servers.
On supported devices, the App may use the LiDAR sensor to perform body measurements. All scanning data is processed entirely on-device and is never transmitted externally.
If you enable iCloud backup, your workout data is synced to your personal iCloud Drive account using Apple's native file management APIs. We do not have access to your iCloud data. Backups are governed by Apple's iCloud Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
If you choose to connect Apple Health, the App may read and write body measurements (weight, body fat, lean mass, BMI, height, waist circumference). This data is processed locally and shared with HealthKit only with your explicit permission. We do not access or store HealthKit data on external servers.
On compatible devices, the App may use Apple Intelligence features to analyze your training progress. This processing is handled entirely by Apple, either on-device or via Apple's Private Cloud Compute infrastructure. We, as the developer, do not have access to any data processed by Apple Intelligence. Usage of these features is subject to Apple's terms and privacy policy.
The App may offer subscription plans or in-app purchases. All payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or billing data. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.
If you join the waitlist on our website, we collect your first name, last name, and email address solely to notify you when the App launches. This data is processed via Resend and is not shared with any third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time.
The App does not use third-party advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs; it is built with native Apple frameworks. The only service providers involved are Apple (Sign in with Apple, push notifications, iCloud and App Store payments) and Contabo, which hosts our server. We never sell your data or share it for advertising.
The App is not directed at children under the age required by applicable law in your jurisdiction (13 in the United States, 16 in the European Union, or as otherwise specified). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
By downloading or using Tatakae, you agree to the following terms.
By using the App you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
You retain ownership of all data you create within the App (workouts, routines, measurements, custom exercises). If you publish to the rankings, you grant us a free, non-exclusive license to show your nickname, photo, country and published marks to other users for as long as they stay published.
An account is optional and only needed for friends and rankings. You sign in with your Apple ID, you are responsible for the activity on your account, and each person may have only one. You can sign out whenever you like and ask us to delete your account at any time.
Nicknames and profile photos must not be offensive, sexual or hateful, impersonate anyone, or include someone else's personal data. Rankings are meant to be fair: do not manipulate the rep counter, publish sets you did not perform or exploit bugs. We may remove marks, reset a nickname or photo, or suspend accounts that break these rules.
Tatakae is a fitness tracking tool and does not provide medical advice. The AI detection feature and body measurements obtained via the LiDAR sensor provide estimates and may not be 100% accurate. They should not be used for medical diagnosis. Always consult a qualified health professional before beginning any exercise program. Use the App at your own risk.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
Certain features of the App (Tatakae Pro) require a paid subscription or a one-time purchase. Tatakae Pro is offered as: Monthly auto-renewing subscription ($3.99 USD/month), Annual auto-renewing subscription ($29.99 USD/year), or Lifetime non-consumable purchase ($59.99 USD launch / $79.99 USD standard). Payment will be charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew at the same price for the same period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal by going to your iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions after purchase. No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during the active subscription period. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Pricing and availability may vary by region. All purchases are processed by Apple and refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
We may modify or discontinue the App at any time without prior notice. Your right to use the App will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with these terms, and we may suspend or delete an account that breaks the community rules.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Chile, without regard to conflict of law provisions. However, if you are a consumer residing in a jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws (such as the European Union), those local protections apply to the extent required by law.
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
